USQ to host open day for future students

-

POTENTIAL university students will get a glimpse into what uni life is like tomorrow at the University of Southern Queensland open day.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Geraldine Mackenzie said the day would give future students and their families the chance to explore the University’s specialised facilities and meet academics.

“From our internationally recognised research areas, to our personalised support services, I encourage aspiring students to come down and see what your student experience could be like,” Professor Mackenzie said.

“It is important for us to show what resources we have on offer, but also the support systems in place for our diverse and multi-cultural student cohort.”

This year’s open day will feature live entertainment from creative arts students, as well as workshops, demonstrations, and information sessions covering all things USQ.

A workshop that focuses on providing real-life strategies to empower school leavers to deal with change will also be on offer, as well as campus and on-campus accommodation tours led by the university’s student ambassadors.

“With more than 100 degrees to pick from, there really is so much for future students to choose from on their quest to become more,” Prof Mackenzie said.

The event will run tomorrow at the Toowoomba campus on West St from 10am to 2pm.
