WHAT TO DO IF YOU’VE MADE A PLUCKING MISTAKE

- – The Sun

When it comes to plucking your brows or applying make-up, most of us opt for a bright spotlight.

But it turns out we’ve been using our tweezers all wrong, because you should be grooming in a dim room.

Forget your fear of missing those rogue stray hairs, getting “obsessive” about your look will actually ruin it.

New York-based brow expert Sania Vucetaj told Refinery 29: “The more lighting you have, the more chances you have to tweeze too much and get obsessive.

see your brows come in fuller.”

If you’ve overdone it with the tweezers, Benefit’s head make-up artist and brow expert Lisa Potter-Dixon has revealed how to use ‘brow mapping’ to pencil them in.

The technique helps you find out what shape best suits your face shape.

Lisa told Glamour her three-step approach – using a make-up brush to measure up: Look straight in the mirror. Hold the 1. brush at the dimple of your nose straight up to your brow. Mark with a line. This is where you start.

Hold the brush from the edge of your 2. nose to your eye pupil. This is your arch point.

Hold the brush from the edge of your 3. nose to the outer corner of the eye. This is where you should end.

Lisa said: “If you’re unsure of what to go for, then go for something with a soft arch as that’s going to open the eyes.”

She recommends getting your brows waxed and tinted every four weeks, and styling every day.
