Awards for best farming

-

EACH week, Rural Weekly’s pages and the online spaces it shares with its sister publication are filled with stories of remarkable rural producers striving to produce the best in food and fibre, to innovate, to meet market demand, and to manage land at best-practice standard.

It’s time to recognise the successes of the year with The Weekly Times Coles 2018 Farmer of the Year awards.

We are searching for the best farmers from across Australia – those leading the way, who constantly strive to improve their business and are finding success in their efforts.

The Weekly Times, Rural Weekly, Tasmanian Country, theweeklytimes.com.au and FARM Magazine feature great stories of farmers excelling in their field, from industry stalwarts to new players starting their agricultural journey.

All farmers who appear in the papers, magazine and online during 2018 are eligible to win one of six categories:

■ Beef Farmer of the Year

■ Cropping Farmer of the Year

■ Dairy Farmer of the Year

■ Horticulture Farmer of the Year

■ Sheep Farmer of the Year

■ Farm Magazine Innovative Farmer of the year.

From the winners of these six categories, one farmer will ultimately be crowned The Weekly Times Coles 2018 Farmer of the Year.

Each category winner will receive $5000 in prizes.

The Farmer of the Year will receive $10,000 cash.

Winners will be announced in February and profiled in our special Farmer of the Year magazine.

If you know someone who deserves to be recognised as an outstanding farmer, let us know.

Nominations can be placed at www.weeklytimesnow.com. au/agribusiness/farmer-ofthe-year.
