SKY GETS DOWN TO EARTH IN THE REGIONS NEXT WEEK

-

Regional TV viewers can expect more engagement when Sky News on WIN launches next weekend.

Sky News host Paul Murray is one of a dozen leading commentators who will speak directly to regional and rural communities on the new channel that will offer a selection of award-winning Sky News national affairs programming.

“I want people to really understand that I’m there to tell them what happened today, to give them a bit of laugh but also be their voice back to Canberra,” he says.

“Everyone’s trying to pay off a house, stay healthy and make sure that their kids get a bit of country. There’s a lot of stuff unique to these areas we’ll be broadcasting to for the first time through WIN but there’s also a lot of stuff that binds us together as a nation.” Murray plans to take his show, Paul

Murray Live, to even more regional locations over the next year. He’s also full of praise for Jaynie Seal’s expanded role on the premium news channel’s new breakfast program.

“Jaynie’s a spectacular, talented presenter,” he says. “By the time it gets to air they’ll have been working on that show for months. No disrespect to the choices that are out there, but sometimes all you want to do is know what’s going on – not watch a pointless celebrity interview or someone promising to give you cash.

“This is about what happened overnight, and what do I need to know before I start my day. It’s a perfect thing for WIN. There’s a no-nonsense nature to the people and that’s the service they’re getting.

“You can wake up with Jaynie, and then

make sure I’m the last thing you watch before you go to bed.”

Sky News on WIN will feature select Sky News content including Credlin, The Bolt Report, Outsiders, Jones & Co, Richo, Politics

HQ, SPEERS and Kenny on Sunday.

Talent highlighted across the regional channel will include David Speers, Andrew Bolt, Laura Jayes, Kieran Gilbert, Ashleigh Gillon, Peta Credlin and Alan Jones.

The expert team of meteorologists and reporters from Sky News Weather will bring the latest regional weather updates, while the team at Fox Sports News will provide sports news coverage.

Warren Mundine will also host a second season of Mundine Means Business – highlighting the entrepreneurship and success of indigenous communities.
