Race day helps fund hospice

-

MORE than 180 people have obtained tickets to the Toowoomba Hospice Race Day at Clifford Park Racecourse.

The function, to be held in the Clive Berghofer Atrium on Saturday, September 8, will be held in conjunction with the first spring twilight race meeting in Toowoomba.

Chairman of the Toowoomba Hospice Association Graham Barron OAM said he would like to sell at least another 80 to 100 tickets to help make the day a real “winner” for the hospice.

"The race day is one of the Hospices’ major fundraising/ social events,” Mr Barron said.

“We have eight core values here at the hospice and one of them is to ‘offer safe, quality palliative and respite care’, but to do this comes at a cost and this is why we have events like this, so please book a ticket and show you care in hospice care.”

Tickets are just $85 and can be purchased from the Toowoomba Hospice in O’Quinn Street, or by phoning during normal business hours on 4659 8500 or email events@toowoombahospice. org.au

Tickets include entry to the races, a complimentary drink upon arrival, canapes, a delicious two course plated dinner (alternate drop), dessert, tea/ coffee.

There will be prizes for the best dressed female, male, best hat/fascinator, charity silent/ live auctions all while raising funds for the Toowoomba Hospice.

“It’s a win/win situation,” Mr Barron said, tongue in cheek.
