Green comes up big at TRL awards night
RUGBY LEAGUE: Jackson Green has capped off a careerbest year at the back for Wattles, being named the recipient of the Price/Webcke Medal as the TRL Premiership’s player of the year.
Green played in 14 of the Warriors’ regular season outings, finishing with 15 tries and providing a key connection with halves Travis Burns and Matt Duggan to power their team to the minor premiership.
He was also named in the Toowoomba Clydesdales team for the 47th Battalion where they went down narrowly to Sunshine Coast in the decider.
In addition to earning player of the year honours, Green also received the Frank Purcell Memorial Trophy for best and fairest throughout 2018.
Warwick’s Ben Sullivan was named as the winner of the Kuhnemann/Platz Trophy for representative player of the year.
After a breakout year from all three teams and the very real possibility of having each in next weekend’s grand finals, the Highfields Eagles were awarded the Club Championship.
