Multicap is proud to empower more than 1,200 people with disability and their families on a daily basis. Established over 55 years ago by five families for the purpose of caring for young children with complex support needs, Multicap has matured into an organisation with a broad service offering. The opening of the Toowoomba Community Hub late 2017 provided greater access for local and neighbouring communities to better tailored personal services.

The Toowoomba Community Hub is a place where customers immediately feel at home. It is welcoming and inclusive, offering creative learning programs and supporting social engagement through bringing together likeminded people. This is a place of recreation and life skills development and will grow to reflect the particular needs of our local community.

As specialists in complex support needs, Multicap also has decades of experience in understanding behaviours that may limit people’s lives and their underlying causes. Addressing these behaviours and implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) will also increase our customers’ quality of life.

Simon Wardale, expert in PBS, recently joined Multicap and brings a wealth of knowledge. Multicap’s Positive Behaviour Support Team provides solutions for customers and their support network, when maintaining friendships and accessing the community is difficult due to the complexity of support needed. Multicap ensures PBS plans are fully compliant with the legislation that regulates restrictive practices. Multicap is a strong advocate for the reduction and elimination of restrictive practices, and will integrate these into customer plans only when entirely necessary, and with the ultimate goal of ceasing their use. Working alongside Multicap’s team of highly experienced Positive Behaviour Support Specialists, our customers receive the best opportunity for successful outcomes.
