AUSSIE RULES: The AFL Darling Downs junior presentati­on was held on Sunday, with a number of high achievers honoured.

CUP WINNERS

BASKETBALL: The AAG Cup was held at St Mary’s College over the weekend as schools from across the Downs came together to lay claim to the Year 9/10 crowns.

In the girls division, Fairholme College took out a narrow three-point victory over Toowoomba State High school.

GIRLS FIGHT OUT FINAL

RUGBY LEAGUE: Warwick and District has taken out the TJRL under-12’s girls only competitio­n.

The side featuring players from as far as Texas held off Oakey in a thrilling contest, prevailing five tries to six.

Scores were level after the full-time siren, before Mia Byrnes regathered her own kick to give her team the title.
