ROMA

FOLLOWING the recent rain event in the local supply area, numbers decreased by 617 head to 3061 at the Roma Store Sale. The overall quality was generally good for steers and heifers, however there was a mixed quality line-up of cows.

A large selection of light weight yearling steers averaged 6c better and medium weight yearling steers to feed lifted by 13c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed experienced only qualityrelated price changes.

The yearling heifers sold to within a few cents either way of the previous week’s improved prices. Cows to slaughter improved 4c to 8c/kg, while the pens of PTIC cows were not up to the standard of the previous week, resulting in the poor-condition cows penned selling to a cheaper trend.
