A glorious place to call home

-

EAST Toowoomba is one of the city’s oldest and most prestigious suburbs – highly regarded for its stunning older properties and its proximity to the CBD, Queens Park and schools,

With its tree-lined streets, it boasts gorgeous historic homes (many of which have been beautifully extended and renovated) – making it one of the most highly prized suburbs in the city. Currently, the East Toowoomba median sales price sits at $472,500 for houses (down 4.5 per cent) and $330,000 for units (up 6.5 per cent).

But the popularity of the area will never wane, with the tree-lined streets adding to the aesthetic of the suburb and really playing on the Garden City name of Toowoomba.

School facilities in East Toowoomba include the ever-popular East Toowoomba State School, Toowoomba Grammar School, Fairholme College, and Toowoomba Anglican College and Preparatory School, making it popular with families.

The suburb’s proximity to the CBD makes it easy for inner-city workers to commute to work. In fact, they can often leave their cars at home and either walk or cycle.

Other highlights include Queens Park, Mother’s Memorial, Cobb & Co Museum and TAFE Queensland South West Toowoomba campus, as well as numerous cafes.

Set across more than 25 picturesque hectares, Queens Park has been enjoyed by generations of locals and regional visitors since it first opened to the public in the late 1800s.

It’s a beautiful calm space where nature showcases its seasonal offerings, alongside the city’s bustling CBD.

A variety of community activities and annual events are also hosted at Queens Park and Botanic Gardens with Toowoomba’s internationally renowned Carnival of Flowers and its signature Flower, Food and Wine Festival leading the way.

From tree-lined avenues and woodlands to open space sporting ovals, all-abilities playgrounds, and barbecue and picnic facilities, the parkland has lots to offer across three distinct areas – namely Queens Park Botanic Gardens, Vera Lacaze Memorial Park and Queens Park’s greater park area.
