North Toowoomba is transformed

-

NORTH Toowoomba was one of the earliest developed suburbs in the Toowoomba region and, as such, features distinctive bluestone kerbing lining its heritage areas.

It extends from the Toowoomba railway yards to Harlaxton (covering about two square kilometres) and there are many charming character homes found in the area – many of which have, or are undergoing, renovation and extension work.

Many of the streets have avenues of trees and some have quite substantial and established canopies.

North Toowoomba is another affordable suburb with median house sales price of $303,000 (down .7 per cent).

More than one-third (42.6 per cent) of North Toowoomba is rented with the remaining 56.8 per cent either fully owned or owned with a mortgage; 0.6 per cent is occupied under other circumstances.

The suburb is close to the CBD with schools and shopping amenities in nearby Newtown, East Toowoomba and Harlaxton.

West of Ruthven St to Mort St and extending down to Bridge St is a substantial light-industrial area running more or less parallel to the railway.

This area includes the new Bunnings Warehouse construction, as well as the Mills Precinct.

The former Dairy Farmers milk processing facility, in Brook St, has been redeveloped in recent years into multiple commercial tenancies.

These tenancies include multiple gyms and office space, all of which make the most of the industrial chic feel of the development.
