Showers forecast all this week

SHOWERS are expected almost every day this week in Toowoomba, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.

While the predictions are only for up to a maximum of 6mm to fall on any given day, it is still better than no rain.

The first week of spring for 2018 is also bringing warmer weather to Toowoomba.

Today and tomorrow will reach a maximum of 18 degrees, but the minimum temperatures are the reason to get excited.

They are now in double digits with the minimum tomorrow and Wednesday to be 10 degrees.

About 6mm of rain is predicted for today, most likely in the late morning and afternoon.

Tomorrow and Thursday only 1mm is expected to fall.

Thursday through to Sunday, the maximum temperatures will sit in the low 20s, with the minimums sitting above 10 degrees again.

Friday and Saturday, about 5mm of rain will fall each day, with the skies beginning to clear on Sunday.

The showers are caused by a high-pressure system in Tasmania.

The system will move slowly east over the southern Tasman Sea from tomorrow and this will result in winds gradually tending more moist onshore over the southern and central Queensland coasts.

The increasing moisture will combine with an upper level trough to lead to an increasing chance of showers over the week.
