ONE of the best ways to enjoy a day in the park is with a delicious picnic hamper.

But sometimes you just don’t have time to make one or it might seem like too much effort.

Now, Milk and Honey is making picnics in the park easier with the perfect hamper for Toowoomba residents and visitors to take to one of the city’s many parks.

Kevin and Doulina White took over the popular Ann St cafe in August last year.

They wanted to launch the picnic baskets in time for the Carnival of Flowers in September 2017 but it just wasn’t possible.

But Mr White said this year he wanted everyone to know about the new offering.

“We have two young kids and we love going to the park with a picnic, and thought we could offer a way people could do that without having to prepare it themselves,” he said.

“We have so many parks in Toowoomba so it seemed like a good idea.”

There are two different boxes, one for a family-of-four and for couples.

It includes a mixture of lunch options such as wraps, toasted panini rolls, fruit, a range of sweet goods including muffins, doughnuts or cookies as well a drink for each person.

“It is great for people who want to go out and enjoy the sunshine, see the flowers and travel through the city’s parks without having to stop somewhere for lunch,” Mr White said.

“Dining outdoors is a bit of a different experience too.”

The cost is $65 for a four-person hamper, and $50 for a two-person hamper. It is recommended to order your hamper the day before.
