Drug lab found in city bedroom

A WARWICK man will face court on a range of drug and explosives charges after police allegedly found an ice lab in a suburban Warwick home earlier this week.

Officers from the Major and Organised Crime Squad, Warwick Criminal Investigation Branch and Illicit Laboratory Investigation Team raided a Myrtle Ave home at 8am on Monday.

They allegedly found a bedroom that had been used for producing ice on a number of occasions.

It also contained glassware and chemicals used to produce methamphetamine, or ice.

The items were seized along with a quantity of illegal pistols and ammunition.

A 24-year-old Warwick man was charged with 14 drug and weapons offences including possessing and producing dangerous drugs, and unlawful possession of weapons.

He will appear in Warwick Magistrates Court on September 24.

In a different raid on Monday at a Wood St residence, the Warwick CIB arrested and charged a 27-year-old man who was allegedly in possession of 24.5g of ice.

The man was also charged with supplying dangerous drugs and possessing drugs utensils.

He is due to appear at Warwick Magistrates Court on October 31.

Senior Constable Jim Doyle of the Major and Organised Crime Squad Rural said the raid was a blow to drug production in the region.

“This collaboration between our squads and local police continues to identify and disrupt people committing offences across the region for a range of criminal offences,” Snr Constable Doyle said.
