10 THINGS TO DO THIS WEEKEND
1. Record Fair
When: Today, 9am to 2pm
Where: St Thomas Mores Hall, Ramsay St, Toowoomba
More than 30,000 records for sale — one day only. Fun for all those who love music. Come on down and go through 300 crates of records, cassettes and CDs. Lots of $3 records and lots of collectables.
All types of music, everything from ABBA to Zappa. That includes punk, funk and jazz.
We are also buying records, so if you have any at home bring them in on Saturday and we will buy them.
Tables are available for locals who want to sell their own records.
2. Toowoomba Geranium Society Show and Sale
When: Today and tomorrow, 8.30am to 3pm
Where: Masonic Hall, 58 Neil St (next to Empire Theatre)
Expect to see zonal, ivy, coloured leaf, species, scented and regal pelargonium.
On-site and street parking available. Adult entrance $2, children free.
3. Rowes Carnival of Flowers Light Show - A Symphony of Spring!
When: Today and tomorrow, 6pm to 9pm
Where: Rowes Furniture, Russell St Following on the huge successes of Christmas and Easter light shows, bring the whole family to see the Rowes building come to life to celebrate a symphony of spring.
You can also see two stunning videos from Foxtail Productions celebrating the Carnival of Flowers, Toowoomba and the Darling Downs.
4. Bulls Head Inn guided night tour
When: Today from 8pm to 9pm Where: Bulls Head Inn, Drayton Here is an opportunity to explore the inn at night with a volunteer guide. BYO torch or lantern for an experience for the whole family. $12 adults; $10 teens; $8 child (5 to 13yrs) and concession; $30 family (two adults and two children).
Bookings are essential. No tickets available at the door, payment is required prior to event.

5. 32nd Annual Downlands Art Exhibition
When: Today and tomorrow from 10am to 4pm
Where: Downlands College
The exhibition has featured artist in past events such as Charlie Boyle, Graham Radcliffe and Jacqueline Hill.
Art enthusiasts will be able to enjoy more than 1000 art pieces from hundreds of artists.

7. Mad Hatter Spring Carnival Cup
When: Tomorrow from noon to 5pm Where: Clifford Park Racecourse Join us at Clifford Park for the Toowoomba Regional Council Mad Hatter Spring Carnival Race Day, a race day like you’ve never seen.
Indulge in Australia’s premier racing season with thoroughbred horse racing, as well as the unexpected and fun addition of novelty races including pigs, mini trotters, dachshunds and yabbies.
Each novelty race will include a calcutta, where all proceeds will go to St Andrew’s Hospital Toowoomba.
The day will also see the annual running of the Toowoomba Truck Spares Pat O’Shea Plate.

8. Miniature Steam Train & Model T bus rides
When: Tomorrow from 10am to 2pm
Where: Highfields Pioneer Village, 73 Wirraglen Rd, Highfields
Come and ride Myrtle May the miniature steam train with three passenger carriages which takes up to 20 people at any one time.
Or have a vintage bus ride on Henry the Model T Ford bus built in 1924 which can take 12 passengers at once
There will be billy tea and damper, drinks and ice-blocks available and a sausage sizzle at lunch time.

9. Roger Guard Hilly Half
When: Tomorrow from 6.30am to 11am Where: Middle Ridge Park
A beautiful undulating half marathon through the leafy roads of the garden city of Toowoomba during the annual Carnival of Flowers Festival.
The Half-marathon is from 6.30 am and the 10km and 5 km events from 7.30 am.
10. Death by Soprano
