No application for bail

ONE of the women accused of driving a stolen Landcruiser and smashing the caravan it was towing on Wednesday will remain behind bars for at least the next month.

Tamara Louise Weatherall, 27, fronted the city’s Magistrates Court yesterday charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle while adversely affected, assault police, obstruct police, driving unlicensed, entering a dwelling with intent and entering premises and committing an indictable offence.

Weatherall, and a 28-yearold female co-accused from Harristown, were arrested after a string of events in Westbrook earlier this week.

The pursuit began when a Toyota Landcruiser allegedly swerved around a police car and side-swiped another vehicle during an attempted intercept on Wednesday morning.

Police will allege the Landcruiser drove off while officers checked on the driver of the other vehicle.

Not long after that, the Landcruiser allegedly drove through a yard on Taylor St, colliding with an awning and causing the caravan to crash into the units.

After driving off, towing just the trailer of the caravan, police then located the vehicle on Hagan St where the pair was arrested and taken into custody.

Weatherall’s solicitor Claire Graham made no application for bail during her client’s mention yesterday, but sought a four-week adjournment.

Acting Magistrate Robert Walker adjourned Weatherall’s matters to be heard back in the same court on October 25.

Her co-accused is scheduled to appear on similar charges on October 28.
