1. THE GRUFFALO — LIVE ON STAGE

When: Today 12.30pm

Where: Empire Theatre

After sell-out seasons across the world, including London’s West End and Broadway, The Gruffalo returns to Australia. Join Mouse on a daring adventure through the deep, dark wood in this magical, musical adaptation of the classic picture book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler.

Searching for hazelnuts, Mouse meets the cunning Fox, the eccentric old Owl and the party mad snake. Will the story of the terrifying Gruffalo save Mouse from ending up as dinner for these hungry woodland creatures? After all, there’s no such thing as a Gruffalo is there?

Songs, laughs and scary fun for children aged three-plus and their grown-ups...

2. MY LOCAL FEAST FARMERS MARKETS

When: Today from 7am to noon

Where: Cobb and Co, Lindsay St, Toowoomba

Toowoomba’s farmers’ markets beside Cobb and Co on the corner of Lindsay and Campbell Streets, East Toowoomba, from 7am to noon and on Wednesdays at The Mills on the corner of Ruthven and Campbell Sts, Toowoomba, from 2pm to 6pm.

3. SPRING POLO

When: Today from 11.30am

Where: Queens Park

This year Spring Polo will feature two spectator friendly polo matches, all easily visible from the Hit FM Canopy Lounge, the Belle Property Grande Marquee, the Lexus of Toowoomba Atrium and the private areas, all with a wide range of hospitalit­y and guest seating.

Field side champagne, live music and scrumptiou­s food mixed with polo is the perfect reason to be a part of Toowoomba’s Spring Polo in Queens Park.

4. LIT FESTIVAL: STORIES IN LIGHT

When: Today from 6pm

Where: Toowoomba CBD — Herries, Ruthven, Margaret, and Hume Sts

Toowoomba’s untold stories will be illuminate­d as part of a new two-night street art festival. Bold and colourful light projection­s and sculptures will be created by local and internatio­nally establishe­d artists to reactivate the city by night with artists Craig Walsh, Jessie Wright and Connor Quill and Kellie O’Dempsey.

LIT Festival: Stories in Light is encouragin­g people to explore Toowoomba into the evenings and breathe more energy into the nightlife. Think VIVID Festival Sydney meets Toowoomba.

5. SYDNEY COMEDY FESTIVAL SHOWCASE TOUR: TOOWOOMBA

When: Today 8pm

Where: Empire Theatre

The Sydney Comedy festival is taking the best and brightest funny folk to the road for the sixth year in a row! Expertly curated and lovingly crafted, the Showcase will feature the festival’s hottest acts live on stage for an incredible two hours of hard-hitting laughter.

6. CHAPTER III AND SIR JEFFREY’S PEOPLE

When: Today 6.45pm to 11.45pm Where: Rumours Internatio­nal With special performanc­e by the iconic Little Pattie.

The Australian music legend will share the stage with Chapter III and Sir Jeffrey’s People in aid of the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation.

7. TOOWOOMBA FX-FJ HOLDENS ALL HOLDEN DAY CAR SHOW

When: Tomorrow 9am to 3pm

Where: Valleys Rugby League Club grounds, Pillar St, Middle Ridge

Public entry $5, accompanie­d children under 12 free.

All parking is onsite off the street. Entrants from 6.30am. Trophy presentati­on and multi draw raffle on the day. Jumping castle, face painting, fun for the whole family!

Vehicle entry $25 per car prior to the day and $35 per car on Sunday, so get in early.

8. QUEENS PARK MARKETS

When: Tomorrow 9am to noon Where: Queens Park, Hume St Special Carnival of Flowers market to coincide with the last day of the carnival. Market features gourmet food, speciality coffee, arts and crafts and kids activities.

9. SUMMER TUNES IN THE PARK

When: Tomorrow from noon to 3pm Where: Picnic Point

Slow Train are back live in the park. Bring your picnic and your dancing shoes for a great afternoon of entertainm­ent.

10. CINEMA UNDER THE STARS - TROLLS

When: Monday 4.30pm to 6.30pm

Where: Walton Stores 476-482 Ruthven St

Join us at Walton Stores for a Movie Under the Stars. Bring a blanket and settle in to watch Trolls as Poppy, the happiest Troll ever born, and the curmudgeon­ly Branch set off on a journey to rescue her friends, after the Bergens invade Troll Village.

Free admission, kid friendly.
