Monte Carlo comes to the races
ROTARY Edge’s Monte Carlo Night at Clifford Park Racecourse will kick off the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation’s Children’s appeal fundraising effort next week.
Held on Saturday, October 6 to coincide with the day’s race meet, the Monte Carlo Night will see Clifford Park’s Grande Marquee transformed into a scene from one of Monaco’s casinos.
Entertainment will include faux gambling in the form of roulette, blackjack, Texas hold’em poker and craps, and a silent auction, as the horses run their final races of the day.
While the event promises to be plenty of fun, there’s a serious side as well.
Money raised from the night will support the vital work of Toowoomba Hospital Foundation and its Children’s Appeal, and the Rotary Foundation in support of the Nepal Sanitation Project.
The Monte Carlo Night will be the first event of the 2018 Children’s Appeal fundraising effort.
Rotary Edge’s Corin Sankey said the club was delighted to be able to assist the hospital foundation.
“It’s wonderful to be partnering with the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation’s Children’s Appeal and raising money for the kids in our community who need it most,” he said.

Any tickets booked before midnight on Monday, October 1, will go into a draw to win an additional $2500 faux gambling money.
Tickets include entry to the races, a four-hour drinks package starting at 4.30pm, finger food, and money for “gambling”. The price is $160 per person or $300 per couple, or $1200 for a group of 10.
