After the special general meeting held last Sunday it is to be noted that members of our club have voted to amalgamate with the Mustangs Leagues and All Sports Club. There will be more news about this venture in the coming weeks. Competition called for the coming weekends. This Friday, October 5 at 1pm. Club selected pairs: T. Sendall, G. Fritz v G. Lock, R. Scollen. Sunday, October 7 at 1pm: Championship triples, play, sub or forfeit: P. Dangerfield, D. Payne, S. Goodwin v T. Wilson, T. Sendall, L. Hannant; G. Dwan, R. Scollen, T. Nolan v D. Spinks, R. Wilson, R. Cameron. Saturday, October 13 at 9am: Winners of P. Dangerfield/T. Wilson v winners of G. Dwan/D. Spinks; at 1pm winners of above to play final. These games must be played as champion of champions will be played at Toowoomba club on October 20-21. Last Saturday our Division 2 team was deteated by Laidley in the final of the Pennants winning on two rinks but going down by six overall. This Saturday, October 6 starting at 1pm. Diabetes Qld and Nick Hannant are presenting a barefoot bowls day. It is a $5 cost to enter and play bowls. There are some very good prizes in the raffles. This day is open to all. A great fun day. All proceeds from the raffles will go towards Diabetes Qld. There is a nomination sheet on the board. This Sunday, October 7. Next Ladies Club $500 jackpot mixed or otherwise pairs will be played starting at 1pm. Nomination sheet is on the board. On Sunday, October 14 the bar staff and Drought Relief Day will be held. Starting at 9.30am two games with barbecue lunch and after-play nibblies. Cost for the day is $30 per player with $10 of that fee going to the Farmers Relief. There will be a prize for the best dressed farmer fancy dress. Nomination sheet is on the board. On Saturday, October 20 a visit from the Lowood Club. Keep in mind the “Fun Trivia Night’’ coming up on Friday, October 19. Cost will be $15 for meal and trivia or $10 for trivia only. Meals at 5.45pm with trivia starting at 7.15pm. Tables of six required. Contact club on 4635 1960 to be involved. This event is being hosted by Bob Donovan and will not be your usual trivia night. A lot of fun guaranteed.
