COOBY DAM

THERE are still great reports this past week at Cooby.

Lots of anglers have had good success again trolling the northern arm of the dam.

Keeping your lures close to the weed edges is key to getting those bites.

The bait fishermen have had good catches of yellowbelly as well.

Fishing the deeper parts of the dam towards the buoy line has been quite consistent.

CRESSBROOK DAM

LOTS of anglers have had some great sessions out at Cressbrook during the week.

Still spoons and soft plastics have been the stand-out lure.

The main lake points in the basin are still holding massive amounts of fish.

Patience figuring out what the fish want to eat on the day should see you land some great fish.

WITH the amount of boat traffic Leslie has seen over the last weekend this dam just keeps producing some massive fish.

The cod are well and truly on the move with three over the metre getting caught in the past week.

Casting large spinnerbaits to submerged structure has accounted for two of those fish.

TN70 and Stump Jumpers have worked well.

SOMERSET DAM

THERE’S still great signs of fish all over the dam just the bite times are quite small.

The late afternoon is still the pick of the times.

Red Rock, Pelican Point and wide off Bay 13 are holding good numbers of fish.

Spoons and plastics being the stand-out bait again.

The trolling anglers have good success fishing tight to the bottom with larger crank baits. Yellowbelly have been in numbers in the timber, with saltwater yabbies being the best option.

BJELKE-PETERSEN DAM

THIS Dam has really started to fire on the lead-up to this weekends’ competition.

The old creek bed between the ramps and Bass Point will be your best option.

Casting metal blades and spoons has been the stand-out lure.

Also trolling Lipless Crankbaits like the Jackall TN60 is always a good option before the day warm up.

Worms and yabbies have accounted for fish as well.

THERE have been great signs of this dam on the improve with anglers really getting amongst the yellowbelly.

Saltwater yabbies and small blades accounted for most of these fish.

The casting anglers worked hard for smaller cod during the week.

Working the deeper timber with spinnerbaits or jackall proved to be the best option for them.

GOLD COAST BROADWATER

With the Flathead Classic over for another year, there was some great fish caught over the week. The Jumpinpin Bar is always worth a look on the run-out tide.

Kallinga Bank also holding some great flathead and the odd Jew.

Targeting these fish with either large soft plastics and soft vibes have worked well.

The Seaway has been fishing well on the end of the run-in tide.

Bream and flathead have been in their droves through this area.

Cut baits like squid and prawns have worked great.

Tailor have also been working the bait schools just as the sun rises.
