IT WAS a family affair for Pine Creek Angus Stud’s Christie Kennedy and Greg Fuller at this year’s Royal Melbourne Show.

The father and daughter took out the Angus grand champion female and supreme titles.

Ms Kennedy’s 18-month-old Black Diamond 5R Kodiak N411 bull impressed judges.

It weighed 800kg and had an eye muscle area scanned at 120sq cm.

The standout bull won the junior interbreed title at the Adelaide Show three weeks ago.

“We have been to the Melbourne show for the last 10 years,” Ms Kennedy said.

“We do all the royal shows on the east coast.”

Black Diamond was sired by Canadian bull, HF Kodiak 5R.

“I love the bull’s sire appeal – he just has the x-factor with plenty of mobility,” Ms Kennedy said.

“He just looks the part. He is going really well.”

Mr Fuller won the grand champion female with his cow PC Ms Kit Kat, which weighed 900kg. PC Ms Kit Kat was sired by BC Gangster G5.

“What I really love about the cow is her beautiful udder and conformation,” Mr Fuller said.

He said winning grand champion female and supreme titles was something that happened only occasionally and was a special moment with his daughter.
