MISSING livestock, valued at over $60,000, has been reported in the New England area of New South Wales.

The New England Rural Crime Prevention team said there have been a number of livestock thefts reported from Nullamanna, Wongwibinda and Aberfoyle in the past week.

A property located on Emmaville road in Nullamanna reported 17 missing angus and black baldy heifers.

The heifers were described as milk tooth and between 300kg and 350kg live weight.

They contained an ear mark of an “L” from the point of the off-side ear.

Eight hereford cows are missing from a mob of 60 at a property on Dyamberin Road in Wongibinda.

The cows were described as heavy in calf at the time they went missing.

The missing cattle are valued at over $9000.

An Aberfoyle property, located on Waverly Road, reported 14 angus cross short horn cattle missing from a mob of 50.

The heifers were heavy in calf when they disappeared.

The stock loss is valued at over $15,000.

There were also 270 merino hoggets reported missing from a property on Waverly Road in Aberfoyle.

The sheep are in full wool and were due for shearing in the upcoming weeks.

The missing sheep are valued in excess of $40,000.

All livestock were fitted with NLIS tags.

A spokesperson from the Rural Crime team at Inverell said the investigation was still ongoing, and it was too early to say if the incidents were connected.

Many livestock thefts still go unreported and the Rural Crime team encourage owners to report missing livestock.

Investigators from the Rural Crime Prevention Team are keen to speak with anyone who may be able to assist with any information in relation to the missing livestock or any person who has been sighted acting suspiciously in the area.
