TOOWOOMBA’S first Le Diner en Blanc event is just over two weeks away and many men are starting to question what they should wear to the event.

Guests must be dressed in all white for the event.

Justin Eastwell from Colliers International, a major sponsor of the event, said, “from the men’s side of things it’s actually pretty simple”.

“White pants and a white shirt, there’s no a whole lot of other options so it’s very simple,” he said.

“You could go formal or casual white, with a linen shirt and chinos, or tailored slacks and a formal shirt with a white tie.”

Mr Eastwell said while the fashion choices were limited, finding the clothes could be a challenge.

“You do have to hunt a bit,” he said.

“There are a retailers at Grand Central (and around Toowoomba) where you can get things. “White shoes are hard to find.” Event organiser Lauren Hope said the first Le Diner en Blanc event began in Paris 30 years ago. Guests, dressed in all white, bring a partner or friend, a table with a white tablecloth and picnic food. The event’s location is kept secret until the night, with guests catching a shuttle bus to the location.

“It’s open to everyone, anyone can go and buy a ticket essentially,” she said.

“Everyone wearing white is unique. It signifies no one is better than anyone else, there are no VIPs, all walks of life can be involved and everyone is dressed the same.”

The Toowoomba event is on October 20. For more information and to buy tickets visit toowoomba.dinerenblanc.com.
