OVER the past decade Thai Royal has become a favourite for Toowoomba diners craving traditional Thai food.

Thai Royal is an authentic, family-operated business at Southtown Shopping Centre, owned by Cel Mathers and Sisouphan Bouaraphan.

As part of The Chronicle’s Best Of series for 2018, Facebook readers were asked to nominate their favourite restaurant. Thai Royal was voted number one, praised for its delicious dishes and great customer service.

All dishes are freshly prepared from scratch and the menu offers a range of meals to suit all tastes such as coconut prawns, tom yum soup, deep fried tofu and curry puffs.

Mr Bouaraphan is also the head chef and was one of the first Thai chefs in Brisbane.

He has more than over 30 years of experience as a chef, 10 years in Thailand and 22 years in Australia.

Mr Bouaraphan said he was thrilled to be named the best restaurant in Toowoomba.

“It is great that so many people like my food,” he said. “I am very happy that people voted for us and I want to thank all our loyal customers.”

Readers couldn’t praise the restaurant and its food enough.

Kaylene Coutts said: “Thai Royal is the only Thai I will eat. Amazing food and the best service. I have been a regular for about nine years or more.”

Ellie Vessman said: “Thai Royal at Southtown never disappoints. Absolutely amazing service and food.”

The restaurant is BYO only and also does take-away and deliveries. For more information visit www.thairoyalrestaurant.com.au or phone 4687 6808.
