Junior Neers to commence rep season

-

BASKETBALL: The Toowoomba Mountaineers upand-comers are gearing up for the representative season starting this weekend.

They will have seven teams lining up across various divisions in the Basketball Queensland Junior Basketball Competition, and are confident of bringing success over the range.

Junior representative chair Darryl Allen said he hoped players from the restricted age divisions would make the leap into the senior teams in future years.

“Our main aim is to keep the kids playing sport, and hopefully in the end they’ll be playing senior Mountaineers as they move into adulthood,” he said.

“We’re hoping we get a few making the finals this year. A goal is for all teams to make the finals and see how we go from there.”

Four teams will be playing at home at Clive Berghofer Arena this Saturday, including all U16s teams and the U18s Development Cup side.
