Council Meetings

The next meetings of Council’s Standing Committees will be held on 13 and 14 November commencing at 9am. The next Ordinary Meeting of Council will be held on 20 November commencing at 10am. All meetings are at City Hall, 541 Ruthven St, Toowoomba.

Toowoomba Australia Day Committee Seeking Members

We’re currently seeking members of the community who are eager to join Toowoomba City’s Australia Day working group. The group meets monthly to plan the city’s Australia Day events at Picnic Point. If you’re interested or would like to join, give us a call.

Pool Closure for Swimming Carnival

Milne Bay’s 50m pool will be closed to the public 14 October, 8am-4pm due to a swimming carnival taking place. All indoor facilities remain open and available for the public during this time. Toowoomba City Library Book Sale

Friends of the Toowoomba City Library are having a book sale! Rummage for reading treasures at Level 3, City Precinct on Friday 26 October, 9am-4pm and Saturday 27 October, 9am-2pm. Animal Registrati­on and Microchip Checks

An inspection program to check on dog registrati­on and dog and cat microchipp­ing began on 15 October. It is a legislativ­e requiremen­t that all dogs over 12 weeks of age must be registered, and that all cats and dogs are microchipp­ed before 12 weeks of age. Water Restrictio­ns

We’ve introduced medium level water restrictio­ns to a number of communitie­s across the region including Hodgson Vale, Valeview, Cambooya, Clifton, Greenmount, Pittsworth (including Brookstead and Southbrook), Cecil Plains and Yarraman. Park Closure Margaret Street Playground

We have commenced works in Margaret Street playground as part of the Stage 5 Queens Park Master Plan Improvemen­t Works. From early October a section of the Margaret St playground will be closed off for safety reasons to allow for the installati­on of a new play structure. Lindsay St playground will remain open until the Margaret St playground is completed in mid-November. Council apologises for any inconvenie­nce.
