A lot to LoVe about LoVetri

-

A TUTOR with more than 30 years of experience, a nine-day retreat, and one incredible opportunity.

From Broadway to Baker St, globally recognised music tutor Jeanette (Jeanie) LoVetri will be in residence at the McGregor Summer Arts Retreat early next year.

Ms LoVetri is founder of the globally famed Somatic Voicework (the LoVetri Method) which is practised internationally and based upon voice science and medicine.

University of Southern Queensland contemporary singing and music lecturer Dr Melissa Forbes forged the relationship between Ms LoVetri and the university and said it was of huge benefit for both local musicians and our region.

“As a result of the first residence at the start of January 2017, we now have participants from all over the world interested in pursuing post-graduate studies,” Dr Forbes said.

“Jeanie is at the top of the industry in terms of vocal coaching and to have that industry connectedness here at USQ is a real coup for the university.”

USQ PhD candidate Courtney Feldman, who researches music, is not only accredited in the LoVetri Method but has also based her Creative Arts Honours thesis on it.

“Somatic Voicework changed my life and helped me free my voice. It unleashed a newer, confident me from the inside out,” Ms Feldman said.

“This course is an incredible opportunity for students to immerse themselves in a world-class learning environment; broadening their horizons.

“My training with Jeanie extended my learning even more and inspired me to pursue further research in music.”

The LoVetri Method is a mind, body, and voice technique aiming to increase the singer’s physical awareness. It promotes the unique vocal expression in each singer.

The professional development workshop will be done in three stages and accreditations; basic application, advanced application, and repertoire problem solving and voice medicine.
