Trainer says Viddora can win Everest

RACING: Dual Group 1 winne Viddora is primed for her “hi and run” mission to chas some of the $13 million boot on offer in today’s The Everes (1200m) at Randwick.

Trainer Lloyd Kennewe said his mare was in grea shape ahead of the richest tur race in the world.

Having headed to Sydney o Thursday night after an im pressive work in the morning the last-start winner of th Group 1 Moir Stakes (1000m at Moonee Valley will return home on Sunday, with Kenne well buoyant about he chances.

“Her work ... was really, real ly good. It was ideal prepara tion work,” Kennewell said.

“It was nearly a clone o what she did at the Valley th other day before the Moir, an (jockey) Joey (Bowditch) wa really excited by it.”

A $13 chance before the bar rier draw, Viddora has drifite to $16 with Ladbrokes afte drawing gate 12 but Kennewe believes she has a realisti chance in a very open affair.

“Has anyone seen a sprin race this good where it is pos sibly going to end up being 10the field?” he said.

“There looks to be grea speed in the race, which i probably a real positive for us and we have got one of th horses going in with red-ho form.”

Viddora, who has won nin of her 27 starts for $2.4 million in prizemoney, scored the rac slot held by leading owne Damion Flower.

“It’s great to be a part of it Kennewell said of the experi ence of having his one-tim $40,000 yearling purchas compete in such a lucrativ race, where $6 million goes t the winner.
