LITTLE Talayah Hyde is only seven months old and she is already preparing to compete on a national stage.

The beautiful bub clinched victory from 50 other babies at the Brisbane Baby Show Time competition in June, earning her a place in the state finals.

“I was shocked but also ecstatic when she was crowned queen of the day at the Brisbane competition,” mum Kim Dixon said.

“Afterwards I asked the judges about their decision, and they said it was her big blue eyes that had helped her win the title.

“After that, I had friends and family members ringing me from all over - excited about the news.”

Talayah and her mum will now travel to Melbourne to compete in the Baby Show Time grand final, which will be held on October 30.

“I have to say, I am a little bit nervous,” Ms Dixon said when asked about the upcoming competition.

“There are babies from all over the state travelling in for the competition, it’s going to be fierce.”

Talayah will be entered in several categories in the competition, including most adorable, sweetest child, personality plus and beautiful eyes.

However all families will be vying to take home the coveted king and queen title.

“I’m so proud of her for getting this far,’ Ms Dixon said.

Ms Dixon will be hosting a baby show this Sunday at Drayton’s Bowls Club to raise funds for the pair’s trip to Melbourne. More information is available on the Talayah’s Baby Show Facebook page.
