Duchess nose about Leo’s hack

-

FOR a woman with so much on her plate, the Duchess of Sussex makes it look effortless.

Her healthy hacks are wellknown: she drinks green juice over coffee, eats vegan during the week and yoga is her “thing”.

But it turns out there is one little health hack she has picked up from none other than Leonardo DiCaprio himself.

Sharing her tips for staying healthy on long-haul flights on her now-defunct lifestyle blog The Tig, the Duchess revealed she uses handwipes on the TV, service tray and buttons, takes a blanket to keep warm and pops a high-strain probiotic.

But her most extra tip came from a Hollywood royal: “A dear friend of mine once told me that Leonardo Dicaprio gave her an excellent travel tip,” she wrote. “Evidently, he said that to avoid getting sick on planes, he puts a little Neosporin on a cotton swab and coats inside of his nostrils.”

Sure, but does science back it up? “Neosporin is an antibiotic ointment, and antibiotics don’t work against viruses,” Dr Darria Long Gillespie says. “Nothing in the triple antibiotic formula will help against the cold or flu.”

It’s actually all about the petroleum component, which can rehydrate your nasal passages and be potentially beneficial in fighting off infection, she says.

But that doesn’t necessarily need to be an antibiotic ointment. So, why not go natural? Instead, she suggests trying coconut oil, applying with a Q-tip or a nasal spray.

Hey, if it’s good enough for Megs and Leo, it’s good enough for us.
