Resonance launches city show
AN EXTENDED concert series will bring the acclaimed Resonance Ensemble to the Garden City this month.
The exciting and vibrant newly formed woodwind quintet, described as Brisbane’s freshest, most cutting-edge professional chamber wind quintet, will bring An American Rhapsody to the Choral Society Hall on November 18.
It will mark the ensemble’s first tour of Toowoomba with the all-Gershwin performance.
Resonance was formed three years ago with professional musicians who have performed around Australia and overseas, and who have played with ensembles such as the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, The Australian Army Band, Queensland Pops Orchestra, Australia Session Orchestra, and Queensland Festival Philharmonic.
Resonance prides itself on mentoring young and up-coming professional musicians by giving them a platform to perform as a soloist, but also as part of an ensemble.
Composer and arranger, and flautist Michal Rosiak focuses on arranging the ensemble’s music to ensure a flexible and exciting repertoire to ensure Resonance is not limited to a standard wind quartet repertoire.
Alongside Rosiak, Resonance includes Paulo Felix-Almeida on clarinet, Karen Ruprecht on bassoon, Lisa Conlan-Holownia on horn, and Vivienne Brooks on oboe as guest artist.
Rising star and solo pianist Alex Ranieri will also guest perform at Toowoomba.
It’s hoped the November 18 performance will be the start of regular tours to the city.
Resonance will perform An American Rhapsody at the Choral Society Hall from 2pm. Tickets through Eventbrite.
