DACHSHUND DELIGHT IN PARK
TOOWOOMBA dachshund lovers gathered at Queens Park at the weekend, with their four-legged friends in tow.
Some puppies dressed up with wigs and bowties, others were simply showing off how cute they are all natural.
It was a morning of fun in the off-leash area with a best dressed competition, dachshund racing, professional photographer and a dachshund ninja warrior course.
There was also a range of dog and pet related stalls, food vendors and arts, crafts and personal item stalls.
A number of prizes were raffled off with all funds raised going to Storybook Farm.
Storybook Farm houses animals of all shapes and sizes with special needs.
Member of Toowoomba Dachshunds Laura Linder said it was important to raise funds for the charity as they did so much for their loveable sausage dogs.
“Storybook Farm help dis- abled animals. One in four dachshunds are going to get a spinal condition in their lifetime which can lead to paralysis so it’s great the organisation can help rehabilitate the animals,” she said.
“We’re hoping to raise $2000.
“It’s a bit of fun and a lot of the dogs don’t get to see each other very often so it’s also a social outing for them.”
After the event owners and their pooches were invited to Bar Wunder, the city’s new pet friendly bar and cafe.
They were able to sit and relax, while their pets enjoyed some doggie treats.
