Fitness model in town
Emily visits for launch of city’s Goodlife Health Club
A FITNESS model with millions of fans visited Toowoomba on Saturday to take residents through a group workout.
Emily Skye, who has risen to fame thanks to her online fitness program and social media following, was in town as the special guest for the launch of Goodlife Health Clubs in Toowoomba.
She is the ambassador for the gym which is opening at Grand Central next month.
“I’m here to take people through a 30-minute weight free workout which will get their heart rate up and far burning,” she said.
“It’s something I like to get involved in and it’s cool to meet people from different areas all around Australia.”
Goodlife Health Club will open at Grand Central, on level two next to Rebel Sports, on Saturday, December 15.
It is one of the fastest growing gym networks with more than 80 locations across Australia.
Toowoomba is its first regional location.
As well as a regular gym space, there is also a group fitness studio, a yoga studio, cycling studio, child-minding services and more than 66 group fitness classes on the timetable.
Assistant club general manager Tanielle Thompson said it was exciting to be opening in Toowoomba.
“It’s exciting for Toowoomba people who travel for work as they can take their gym membership with them,” she said.
“Toowoomba is so dynamic and it deserves something like this. People here like good service and we are great at that. With the expansion of Grand Central it’s the perfect space for us.”
There are also showers, an ironing station, hair dryers and hair straighteners for people heading to work after their workout.
Goodlife will be open for 24 hours. For more information, there are information stalls around the shopping centre.
