I have lived in Toowoomba on and off for the past 43 years.

I worked as nurse at St Vincent’s Hospital in 1971 and then I moved to Sydney and then to Armidale where I met my husband.

My husband was training to become a nurse at the time and he thought he could tell me what to do.

It went down pretty well, he chased me for a long time and we have been together for 40 years.

We moved back to Toowoomba because my husband wanted to advance his career.

Toowoomba is a great place to raise a family, the schools are good and the people are nice and all the grandchildren are here as well.

Toowoomba is also a convenient city to live in, you can go to either coast in just under two hours.

In my spare time, I enjoy knitting, reading and camping, we actually went to Cullendore over the weekend for a quick trip.

My husband and I have lived in Toowoomba for the past 34 years. Before that we lived at Warwick.

I grew up in Warwick with my family. My husband was working for Commonwealth Bank at the time and then we moved up here for his job.,

The great thing about Toowoomba is that it combines city with the country.

The city’s CBD is similar to Brisbane, so you don’t have to travel to Brisbane any more.

On the other end you can go out west and enjoy the scenic country.

I like to go out to concerts, musicals and theatre, I like a variety of genres of music but I do enjoy classic rock such as Aerosmith, KISS and David Bowie.

My husband and I really enjoy music, he plays in a band and our kids shared our love for music as well.

I was born at the Toowoomba Base Hospital and have lived here all my life.

Toowoomba has changed a lot since I was born.

The progress the city has made is the biggest change I have seen.

But with this change comes a lot more cars.

We live in a nice quiet suburb which is nice to get away from the rat race.

Toowoomba also has very lovely weather.

I love to read books and knit in my spare time.

My grandmother taught me how to knit which is a good way to keep your mind occupied, it keeps you away from your stresses and worries.

I did offer to teach my grandchildren how to knit but they weren’t interested.

I was also born in Toowoomba but we moved out to Chinchilla when I was around two because my father used to work on the railway.

I lived in Sydney and Melbourne before I ended up moving back to Toowoomba with my husband.

I really like the people in Toowoomba, a lot of them are very lovely.

I have been volunteering here at St Vincent’s ever since I retired.

It keeps me occupied and everyone here is really nice.

My husband and I are part of a car club where we all get together and cruise around.
