-

The OPTUS MyBusiness Awards presentation was held at The Star in Sydney recently and Sunrise Way was named not-for-profit business of the year.

These national awards are Australia’s longest-running awards program and celebrate innovation, leadership, growth and service from every industry and state.

Entrants are judged by an independent panel of respected industry professionals and assessed against specific metrics and business performance parameters.

The award specifically recognises the business that has most effectively capitalised on market opportunities and driven demonstrable business growth.

Sunrise Way was one of seven finalists on the night, including large national organisations such as Youngcare and Evolve Housing.

Sunrise Way is an addictions service provider in Toowoomba supporting stronger and healthier communities in regional and rural Queensland through helping individuals impacted by addiction to rebuild their lives.

It is a values-driven organisation and offers residential a rehabilitation program, a weekly family support group and smart recovery sessions.

The support group started in response to the lack of services within the Toowoomba community.

The program is free and educates and supports 15 to 20 people on a weekly basis.
