PITTSWORTH SHS FORMAL

-

STUDENTS from Pittsworth State High School celebrated a major milestone at the Pittsworth Town Hall for their formal on Wednesday.

About 80 students arrived to their formal in fancy vehicles and glamorous suits and dresses.

Pittsworth State High School principal James O’Neil congratulated the students for completing 12 years of schooling.

“It hasn’t always been easy for the students and I am sure some of them thought ‘how are they going to get through this?’,” Mr O’Neil said.

“But they did, they have achieved it and are now at a stage where they are ready to go forward and meet the world head on.

“I am sure as the years pass, they will look back on their time at the school and have an admiration for the dedication their teachers had shown.”

Mr O’Neil said the celebration was a proud day for the students’ parents and families.

“There are few students who can travel through the path of school without the support of family and friends,” Mr O’Neil said.

“I want to thank the families for entrusting us with their children.”

Mr O’Neil said he had gave the graduating class some important words of advice.

“I told them ‘it is important to keep people in their lives who are worthy of their trust and respect’.”

Mr O’Neil said he thanked the school’s staff for their effort preparing this year’s graduates for the real world.

“All the students should be proud of their hard-work they have put in this year and what they have achieved,” Mr O’Neil said.
