THE students from the 2018 Concordia Lutheran College graduating class arrived at their valedictory dinner in sleek cars and immaculate attire on Thursday.
About 73 graduating students made glamorous arrivals to the front of Concordia’s historic Redlands Building where they were greeted by the college’s head of college Adrian Wiles.
A large crowd of onlookers consisting of parents, family members, past and present students and staff members cheered each couple as they arrived.
Mr Wiles said the size of the crowd was indicative of the supportive and caring community at the college.
“In addition to the many local families in attendance, we had a number of families travel great distances from regional Australia and overseas to be present at this special event,” Mr Wiles said.
After the arrivals, the graduating students, their parents and staff members joined at Rumours International for a two-course dinner, speeches and dancing.
A highlight of the night was Grace delivered in four different languages by the students.
Concordia Lutheran College senior college coordinator Carissa Jaworska said the college’s class of 2018 would be remembered fondly as a diverse and entertaining group of students.
“We are most proud of these young people when we see them support and care for each other, when they delight in other’s achievements and especially when they help each other get back up after they have been knocked down by the trials of life,” Mrs Jaworska said.
The graduating class returned to the Concordia Chapel on Friday night for their final valedictory service.
