10 THINGS TO DO THIS WEEKEND
1. Kiyua dance performance
When: Tomorrow from 2pm
Where: Empire Theatres
The Kiyua Kids will present their annual performance of Born To Win from 2pm at the Empire Theatre.
Come and support the dance group as this is a performance put on for families.

2.Miniature Steam train and Model T Bus Rides
When: Tomorrow from 10am to 2pm Where: Highfields Pioneer Village Everyone is welcomed to come, and ride Myrtle May the miniature steam train or Henry the Model T Ford bus at the Highfields Pioneer Village.
The train runs on a 10-and-a-quarter inch gauge circular track with three passenger carriages and can take up to 20 people at any one time.
There will be billy tea and damper, drinks and ice-blocks and a sausage sizzle available at lunch time.
Tickets are $3 for children and $5 for adults.

3.The Big Chess Day Out
When: Today from 10.30am to 4.30pm
Where: Salvation Army Community Hall, Anzac Ave
Chess players of all skill levels are more than welcomed to come to the Big Chess Day Out.
Activities will include coaching sessions in the morning followed by games and competitions for children in the afternoon.

4.Optus Summer Splash with Cate Campbell
When: Today from 10am to 12.30pm
Where: Milne Bay Aquatic and Fitness Centre
The Darren Lange Swimming Academy will host world record holder and Olympic gold medallist Cate Campbell at the Milne Bay Aquatic and Fitness Centre.
Campbell will run a range of water safety, swimming and life-saving activities for beginners and intermediate swimmers from ages seven to 16.
Registration will start at 10am and is free for the participants.

5. Dig Deep for Darryn Concert
When: Today from noon
Where: Royal Hotel, Leyburn Steel Rock Entertainment will host the Dig Deep for Darryn charity concert at the Royal Hotel in Leyburn.
There will be six bands playing outside on stage which include FATT, Remedy, Dirty Water, Band Co, James Royal Band and Wayward Child.
Free bus service will travel from Toowoomba to Leyburn.
Children’s activities such as face painting and jumping castles will be available.
Tickets are $25 per person and are available at the door.

6. St Andrew’s Night
When: Tonight from 7pm to 10.30pm Where: Drayton Hall Everyone is welcome to join the Toowoomba Caledonian Society and Pipe Band celebration of St Andrew’s Night at the Drayton Hall.
The night will ensure there will be plenty of dancing on the night with all the dances called.
Admission is a plate of food for supper and $10 per adult, $5 for school-aged children over 13 and children under 13 enter for free,

7.Christmas Handmade Arts and Craft Market
When: Tomorrow from 9am to 2pm
Where: Danish Flower Art and Gourmet Cafe, Highfields
The Danish Flower Art and Gourmet Cafe will provide the perfect opportunity for those looking for Christmas gifts.
The cafe will host its Christmas Handmade Arts and Craft Market.
There will be more than 70 stalls with an extensive range of hand made items to enhance your home and wardrobe.

8. Mostly Christmas
When: Today from 4pm
Where: St Luke’s Church, 152 Herries St
The Toowoomba Philharmonic Choir and the Toowoomba Municipal Brass Band will present the Mostly Christmas concert.
This community celebration will feature both groups together and separately presenting traditional and modern offerings.
The concert is a great way to start the Christmas season.
Admission is $15 per person and children under 12 are free.

9. Christmas carols
When: Tomorrow from 5pm to 7pm
Where: Toowoomba Hospice, corner of Fifth Ave and O’Quinn St
The Toowoomba Hospice will celebrate the start of the festive season with its annual Christmas Carols.
A Christmas themed craft stall and raffle will be featured at the event.
Food, drink and ice cream will be on sale plus free face-painting for the children.
Bring a blanket or chair and sing carols along with the Toowoomba Municipal Band and High Altitude Harmony.
Santa will also make a special visit. Entry is free.
10. Gowrie Junction Community Fun Day
When: Today from 2pm to 6pm Where: Gowrie State School Everyone is welcomed to come and have a fun-filled afternoon at the Gowrie Junction Community Fun Day.
The celebrations are held at the Gowrie State School and will have live bands, billy cart derby, raffles, community stores and more.
Entry is $5 for a single ticket and $20 for family which includes two adults and three children.
