One of the most cited in the world
A UNIVERSITY of Southern Queensland academic has been named one of the world’s most highly cited researchers in 2018.
Professor Stuart Biddle was recognised in the annual highly cited researchers 2018 list, for ranking in the top one per cent by citations for his field of research.
Now in its fifth year, the citation analysis identifies influential researchers as determined by their peers around the globe - those who have consistently won recognition in the form of high citation counts over a decade.
Professor Biddle, who is the research program director for physical activity and health at USQ, is an internationally-respected physical activity, sedentary behaviour and health expert with an academic career spanning four decades at five universities in the United Kingdom and Australia.
“I am delighted to be named a highly cited researcher for 2018. Being well cited is an important aim for researchers and it’s one way I try to make a difference with the research I do,” Prof Biddle said.
“Importantly, I work with many excellent researchers and enjoy writing and communicating my research in a great environment at USQ.”
The annual list, from Clarivate Analytics, included more than 4000 researchers hailing from more than 60 nations, named in 21 fields of the sciences and social sciences. Prof Biddle was one of only 170 Australians on the list.
