Big wins for TSBE members in 2018

- TSBE TALK ALI DAVENPORT CEO, Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise

IT’S HARD to believe that this year is nearly complete and Christmas is just days away.

TSBE recently celebrated a successful year of big wins with more than 140 members at our December Enterprise Evening.

This year the TSBE team has linked businesses with opportunities in major projects throughout the region including major energy projects, our Emerging Exporters program and the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing.

With more than 300 people in attendance at our Extended Enterprise Evening on Inland Rail in November we are certainly seeing businesses engaging with the opportunities that these major projects offer.

We have held more than 34 events and conferences with more than 3019 attendees including the 400M Ag & Food Innovation Forum, Enterprise Evenings and the Resilient Regions Conference and our Access NZ Delegation which saw impressive connections made.

We have seen the benefits of getting in front of our nations decision makers through events like

TSBE’s Parliament House Enterprise Evening and our regular meetings with elected representatives.

These are vital for promoting the needs of our region.

We have also launched TSBE Health, where in the past 12 months we have seen numerous industry events being held to link businesses in the health industry.

We have invested in workforce development research and in establishing functions that are bringing specialists to our region.

TSBE has worked with many new businesses to assist them to establish offices this region, including Mainfreight, The GO2 People, Pastech and Seaway Group to name a few.

In the upcoming year the TSBE team is looking forward to assisting local businesses to access major projects, establishing freight and logistics hub opportunities, while ensuring this region is positioned as a growing export hub for premium agricultural produce.

We will continue to deliver services that make a difference to our local businesses, hosting events that bring more people together and attracting the best and brightest to our area.

Next year is going to be a busy year, that’s for sure.

I hope you and your family have a wonderful and safe Christmas and I look forward to working with you in 2019.
