IN WHAT police claim was a drug debt gone wrong, a 24year-old man was allegedly blow torched, beaten and had a derogatory term scribbled on his chest during an ordeal at the weekend.

It is claimed by police that the man was duct taped before being kidnapped and tortured on Saturday.

Three men, aged 30, 22 and 35 respectively, appeared before Toowoomba Magistrates Court on charges including kidnapping, torture, assault occasioning bodily harm and extortion.

None of the accused was required to enter any pleas to their respective charges but all were denied bail by the magistrate and remain in custody over the festive season.

Police also claim when they raided a home in relation to the incident a drug lab and drugs were found.

The complainant man sustained burns and bruises in the alleged ordeal.

IN EXPLOSIVE evidence put before Toowoomba Magistrates Court, police claim a man was kidnapped, blow torched and beaten during an ordeal at residences in Gatton at the weekend over a drug debt.

Three men appeared in custody in separate bail application hearings before the court on Monday charged with various matters including kidnapping, torture and extortion.

Jed James Toole, 30, had been charged with five counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, two counts of torture, and one each of extortion, stealing, and drug matters, while Craig Scott Lynn, 35, was charged with deprivation of liberty and drug offences, and Daniel Tyson Rogers, 22, charged with assault occasioning bodily harm, torture, kidnapping, deprivation of liberty and contravening a police order.

None of the accused have been required to enter any pleas to the charges and during his brief appearance in court, Rogers protested his innocence saying he had been mistaken for someone else.

Police prosecutor Rowan Brewster-Webb told the court Rogers had been identified by a witness on a photo board.

Lynn protested strongly to being refused bail and scuffled with police as he was led from the court.

All three were denied bail with Rogers due back in court on Friday by which time further charges were expected to be laid against him.

Acting Magistrate Roger Stark said he needed more clarity on the allegations against Rogers and required a more thorough written objection to bail compiled by police before he decided whether bail should be granted.

Duty lawyer Shane MacDonald told the court each of the three accused would be contesting their respective charges.

Police claim that when officers attended Lynn’s home in response to the allegations they found a meth lab and 3.5g of methylamphetamine.
