CHANGES are afoot at Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School, according to plans lodged with Toowoomba Regional Council shortly before Christmas.

The Corporation of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Toowoomba has applied to the council for approval of a twostage redevelopment of the school’s administration building.

The first stage would involve the building of two temporary demountable buildings southwest of the current administration block.

One demountable would be used to provide two general learning areas and the second demountable would be used as a staff room and amenities building.

According to the application, the buildings will be in place for two years while the second stage of works are undertaken.

The second stage will involve the replacement of the existing single storey admin block with a new two-storey building “with a smaller footprint”.

“The ground floor will include reception and administration area, Principal’s Office, interview room, sick bay, storeroom and amenities. The first floor will include staff room, work room and staff amenities,” the report said.

“Stage 2 also includes internal refurbishments and extensions to two general learning areas adjacent and either side, of the Administration Building at the first floor level.”

Once completed, the demountables will be removed.
