INCONSIDERATE

-

I AM flabbergasted by the number of inconsiderate persons these days and ask myself, is this the norm now?

As a couple of examples, I am holidaying on the Gold Coast and go for walks on the combined walk/bike paths. Apart from the bikes that fly past from behind without warning, there is a section of path that winds around a hill.

There are signs at both ends and in the middle that say for bikes to be dismounted, and walk, very likely because of the blind corners, but there are constantly people riding, and again sometimes flying, past.

If you dare say something it’s at your own peril. If you’re lucky all you get is a nasty look.

Then I have been sitting at my unit watching the view. There is a road below with kerb-side parking spaces. The number of people I see who park with quite a bit of their car into the adjacent car space making it difficult to park there, amazes me.

Just now I watched a bloke in a Prado try to get into a space, but couldn’t because another car was a good 30cm into that space.

So he decided to move up to the front car space that was just about to be vacated. When he finished parking, he was also into the parking space behind making it a bit more difficult for the car in there to get out.

I mean the git was just inconvenienced himself but didn’t think twice about doing it to someone else. Like I asked, is this the norm?
