Marcus Harris

Age: 26. Tests: 2 Runs: 142 @ 35.5 Harris has been solid and looked good in patches in his innings so far. His 70 in Perth was a top knock. He will want to go on and make a century on his home ground.

Nathan Lyon

Age: 31. Tests: 82 Wickets: 334 @ 31.6

The leading wicket-taker in the series with 16, Lyon will be the key figure in this Test, despite the MCG pitch unlikely to give the spinners as much help as the previous two wickets.

Mitchell Starc

Age: 28. Tests: 47 Wickets: 196 @ 28.22 Despite closing in on 200 Test wickets, Starc has been under fire in the first two contests. Has still claimed 10 wickets in the series and will look to keep the pressure on India’s under-fire openers.

Jasprit Bumrah

Age: 25. Tests: 8 Wickets: 39 @ 23.66 Bumrah has troubled all the Australian batsmen and could have easily added to his 11 wickets in the series so far after forcing a number of plays and misses from the Aussies. The key bowler for India.

Virat Kohli

Age: 30. Tests: 75 Runs: 6508 @ 54.23 There’s plenty of pressure on the Indian skipper but as we have seen already, he thrives on it. His 100 in Perth was one of his best. Loves the MCG after scoring 169 four years ago.

Ajinkya Rahane

Age: 30. Tests: 54 Runs: 3435 @ 41.38 Rahane has got starts in all four innings in the series so far, with two 50s. A key man, Rahane will want to go on and get a ton as he did at the MCG four years ago.
