Australia won by 233 runs In the first India tour to these shores, a hundred in each innings by the legendary Donald Bradman (pictured) and eight wickets in the match for Ian Johnson sealed the win for Australia with Arthur Morris also making a ton in the second innings.

Dec 30, 1967 – Jan 3, 1968

Aus won by inn and 4 runs Graham McKenzie’s (pictured) 7 for 66 got India for 173 and Australia replied with 529, with Bill Lawry, Ian Chappell and Bobby Simpson all getting tons. Trailing by 356, India could only manage 352 with Ajit Wadekar (99) and Pataudi (85) in the runs.

Dec 30, 1977 – Jan 4, 1978

India won by 222 runs Star batsman Sunil Gavaskar (pictured) scored his third century of the series and spinner Bhagwath Chandrasek­har ripped through Australia, capturing 6 for 52 in both innings in a rare victory for the visitors in Melbourne. It was just the second of six wins Down Under for India.

Dec 26-30, 2003

Australia won by 9 wickets Virender Sehwag lit up the G on day one with a sparkling 195 but the Indians collapsed, losing 8-88. Ricky Ponting’s (pictured) 257 and Matthew Hayden’s 136 took the home side to 558 with India then setting 95 to win. The Aussies got home by nine wickets.

Australia won by 377 runs On a tour remembered more for the Monkeygate scandal, Australia recorded their ninth successive win at the MCG, in the 100th Test match played there. India effectivel­y lost the match on the second day when they collapsed to Mitch Johnson (pictured) and co.

Match drawn Skipper Steve Smith (pictured) scored 192 as the Aussies racked up 530. Virat Kohli (169) and Ajinka Rahane (147) combined for a partnershi­p of 362 as the Indians hit 465. This was the first time in 13 matches that the home side had not won a Test between the two nations.
