A TOOWOOMBA woman will miss New Year celebrations with her family after she was remanded in custody on more than 30 charges.

Tania Maree McMillan appeared before Toowoomba Magistrates Court yesterday having spent the night in the watch house.

Police accuse the mother of three of using stolen credit cards at Toowoomba stores as well as having charged her with drug and fraud matters.

She was not required to enter any pleas to a total 32 charges.

Objecting to her bail application, police prosecutor Sergeant Tim Hutton said the police case was strong and CCTV footage showed the defendant engaged in certain activities.

Duty solicitor Shane MacDonald said his client had other charges before the same court on January 15 and asked that these matters be adjourned over to that date as well.

Applying for bail, Mr MacDonald said his client had some mental health issues and that a psychological report had been ordered for her January 15 court appearance.

His client’s mother and one of her daughters was in court supporting her and she would live at her mother’s Newtown residence while on remand and only leave the house in the company of a responsible adult, Mr MacDonald submitted.

However, Acting Magistrate Roger Stark noted McMillan was on bail for previous matters and refused bail, remanding her in custody to appear back in the same court on January 15.
