Kimmince stars in split games
CRICKET: A strong effort with the ball from Delissa Kimmince has helped the Brisbane Heat to split their games with the Hobart Hurricanes.
The Warwick mediumpacer had a wicket and five dot balls on her way to figures of 1-19 from two overs during Brisbane’s comfortable 58-run defeat of Hobart in Launceston yesterday.
The Heat were sent in to bat by their opponents, before reaching the solid total of 8-138 from their allotted overs, with Kimmince scoring two.
The home side never looked likely in their pursuit of the total, stumbling their way to a total of 80 from 16.3 overs.
Kimmince helped break a 16-run partnership when she dismissed Veronica Pyke.
The big win made up for a disappointing loss suffered just a day prior.
After batting first on Sunday, Brisbane was bowled out for 129 from 19 overs, with Kimmince caught for four.
In response, Hobart found themselves heavily under the pump at 4-29 thanks to a superb effort from Kimmince in the sixth over.
Her third delivery removed Heather Knight after catching the English international from her own bowling.
Just two balls later she claimed the scalp of Erin Fazackerley for 17.
She finished with figures of 2-31 from three overs, however the Hurricanes chased down the total with 10 balls to spare.
