1. Star Wars day

When: Today from 9.30am to 6pm.

Where: Toowoomba Library Precinct, Victoria St, Toowoomba.

THE Toowoomba City Library will hold its free Star Wars Day for everyone to enjoy.

A wide range of activities from trivia competitio­ns, games, face painting, light sabre classes and more will keep everyone entertaine­d.

Free foam light sabres will be given to the first 500 new library membership sign-ups on the day.

2. Exhibition opening

When: Today from 10am to 4pm.

Where: Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery, 531 Ruthven St, Toowoomba.

The Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery will show pieces of work from the Lionel Lindsay Gallery and Library Collection with its Hidden Gems exhibition.

Works from the collection exude a distinctiv­e Australian charm.

The exhibition will go from today until March 24.

3. Fashion parade

When: Today from 1pm.

Where: Newtown Park, 147 Taylor St, Toowoomba.

The Toowoomba Floral Art Group and the Queensland State Rose Garden will hold a Portofino summer fashion parade and super sale.

Sizes and styles to suit every woman will be displayed and will be available to purchase.

Afternoon tea, lucky door prizes and multi draw raffles will be also be available.

4. Special screening

When: Tonight from 6.30pm.

Where: USQ Arts Theatre, A Block, USQ Toowoomba.

USQ Artsworx will hold a special one-off screening of the Rocky Horror Picture Show tonight.

The bar will open from 5.30pm and the movie will start at 6.30pm.

Tickets are $15 per person and free for McGregor Summer Retreat participan­ts.

5. Summer Tunes

When: Tomorrow from 10am to noon and noon to 3pm.

Where: Queens Park, Laurel Bank Park and Picnic Point, Toowoomba.

The Toowoomba Regional Council’s Summer Tunes event is in full swing this month.

Free entertainm­ent will be available for the whole family to enjoy.

Sparkles Face Painting will be at Queens Park from 10am to noon.

The Blue Room Blues will provide an afternoon of easy listening at Laurel Bank Park from noon to 3pm.

VavachiJaz­z and Swing is scheduled bring up the tempo at Picnic Point from noon to 3pm.

6. Test and tune day

When: Tomorrow from 9am to 5pm.

Where: Greer Park Raceway, Snelling Rd, Helidon.

The Toowoomba and Lockyer Valley KartClub invites everyone to come along to its “Test and Tune Day” before the 2019 racing season begins.

The day provides an opportunit­y for new comers to meet and greet with club members.

A canteen will be available and informatio­n will be supplied by qualified people.

Practice fees will be $10 for members and visitors.

7. Summer Holiday Art Workshop

When: Tomorrow from 9am to

4pm.

Where: Tinker, 8 Dexter St, Toowoomba.

Tinker will start its three days of Summer Holiday Art Workshop tomorrow.

There will be a variety of classes suited for children from ages two to 16.

Classes cost $25 per class. If you book three classes, the fourth will be for free.

8. PCYC Markets

When: Tomorrow from 6am to 12.30pm.

Where: PCYC Toowoomba, 219A James St, Toowoomba.

The markets at the PCYC is a perfect opportunit­y to acquire fresh fruit and vegetables.

A wide variety of goods will be available to be purchased ranging from bric-a-brac, tools, toys, pet care, jewellery and more.

Parking can be accessed along Water St or the car park behind the market.

9. Go for a swim

When: Today from 7am to 7pm and tomorrow from 7am to 5pm

Where: Milne Bay Aquatic Centre, 43-49 Victoria St, Toowoomba

A great way to beat the high temperatur­e predicted for this weekend is to go for a swim at the Milne Bay Aquatic Centre.

A range of activities are available at the centre which include a children’s pool, a water slide, a gymnasium and more.

Entry is $6 for adults and $5 for children under 15.

10. Old Time Dance

When: Tonight from 8pm to midnight

Where: The MS Hall at USQ, Baker Street, Toowoomba.

Come along and enjoy some old time dancing at the MS Hall at the University of Southern Queensland.

Jim Kelly will provide entertainm­ent at the dance.

A lucky door prize, home-made supper, raffles and more will be available at the dance.

Tickets are $10 per person and are available at the gate.
