YES YES YES A NO FOR MILLIONS

-

Darren Weir has opted to scratch Yes Yes Yes from the Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m).

Queensland stewards and vets looked at the colt yesterday morning and decided they would check him again this morning.

Weir, though, decided to take the colt out, saying it was the right thing to do for the horse and punters.

“He’d improved since yesterday and he would have improved again by tomorrow, but he’s a good colt and I wanted to be on the safe side with him,” the trainer said.

Weir said Yes Yes Yes had worked well on Monday before his three-day float trip with stopovers in Newcastle and Albury.

In their routine inspection of Yes Yes Yes, Queensland stewards and vets found the colt was sore over the rump and had a degree of lameness.

“He must have got those minor problems from that gallop,” Weir said.

Weir said he was still keen to set Yes Yes Yes for the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m).

“The long trip in the float might have toughened him up a little,” he said.

Weir will be represented by Platinum Angel in the $1 million Magic Millions Fillies and Mares (1300m).

“She travelled up really well and she’s in good shape,” Weir said. “She hasn’t had much luck recently and if she gets some she should run well.”
