TOOWOOMBA Motocross Club treasurer Bruce Krause says a new track to be unveiled on Australia Day will keep riders on their toes.

As well as the new track, the club intends to build new amenity facilities in the middle of this year.

“About 75 per cent of the track has been changed with this redevelopment,” he said.

“We try to change the layout of the track every five years.”

The club has invested

$10,000 into the redevelopment.

Some of the new features include new jumps, sharp corners and a new irrigation.

“There has been a lot work that has gone into the remodel,” Mr Krause said.

“About 500 volunteer hours have gone into the new track.

“There has been a lot of interest about the track on social media.”

Mr Krause said the club successfully received a $150,000 grant from the Queensland Sport and Recreation fund to upgrade the amenities.

“We were the only club in Toowoomba to receive funding from the grant,” Mr Krause said.

“The club is looking at constructing the new facilities around the middle of this year.

“The current facilities we have are a little antiquated.”

Mr Krause said everyone was invited to the club’s practice day to see the new track.

“I look forward to the track being used during Mountain Man Motocross in March,” he said.

The Australia Day practice day will go from 7am to 5pm at 90 Nelson St, Toowoomba and entry is $25 per person.
